Natalie Larivière Named President of Transcontinental Media

Montreal, June 29, 2006 – Luc Desjardins, President and CEO of Transcontinental Inc., today announced the appointment of Natalie Larivière as President of Transcontinental Media. The fourth-largest print media group in Canada, this subsidiary comprises the Corporation’s magazine- and newspaper-publishing operations, as well as door-to-door distribution of advertising material and digital media. Transcontinental Media has more than 3000 employees and posted annual revenues of $555 million in 2005. The appointment of Natalie Larivière will take effect on August 7, 2006.

Prior to joining Transcontinental, Ms. Larivière was at Quebecor Media, where she was president and CEO of the Book Publishing Group and president and CEO of Groupe Archambault Inc. Before that, she had been with the National Bank from 1987 to 2000, where her responsibilities included managing the bank’s electronic services for businesses and all electronic commerce projects. Ms. Larivière has an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
